Highlighted Holiday

 National Oyster Day

Oysters have been around for ages, with fossils dating back to the time of the dinosaurs. Early humans enjoyed eating them, and they were important to ancient civilizations like the Greeks and Romans. Oysters were especially significant in New York, where they were once abundant, but overharvesting and pollution led to a decline. Today, oysters are considered a rare delicacy due to their reduced production and increased popularity.
