HILL DAY
Bunker
Hill Day is a memorable holiday to honor heroes from history. During this time,
there are events at museums and historic sites, including live performances,
reenactments of historical events, colonial cooking and crafts, and displays of
Native American life. There is also a big parade in Charlestown, Massachusetts,
where marching bands, music groups, and re-enactment groups participate. Many
people also visit the Bunker Hill Monument and other historic sites in Boston
and watch reenactments of battles and events from the American Revolutionary
War. The Bunker Hill Monument is a tall granite obelisk that reminds us of the
sacrifices made during the fight and encourages bravery and love for our
country.
