Holiday Spotlight

Falling Needles Family Fest Day

Falling Needles Family Fest Day is one of the many holidays by the special day-inventing couple, Thomas and Ruth Roy of Wellcat Holidays. This holiday has been published in the “Chase’s Calendar of Events” and reminds people to take down their Christmas trees and recycle them. It is an awareness celebration and not a traditional holiday.

Christmas trees became popular in America around 1700 and have become a symbol of Christmas around the country. Private homes and public spaces are decorated with Christmas trees as soon as the season rolls around.

Live Christmas trees are more environmentally friendly than fake trees because they are biodegradable. And there’s nothing like the smell of pine to remind you that the season of cheer has arrived! You can’t sip on cocoa in front of a plastic tree and feel like it’s the season to be jolly.

But the most important thing is to ensure that your live tree returns to the environment to get recycled and doesn’t end up in the landfill. It doesn't become part of the enormous waste generated during the holiday season.

If you have a tree with the roots still attached, you could plant it in your backyard. This is even better than a plastic tree because you can bring it inside from the garden for next Christmas.
